go to site I was there that last night at Alpine Valley. The concert was the 26th. Stevie died not long after midnight on the 27th. We were still in the parking lot when the helicopter went down on the other side of the valley. I was in such denial when I heard the next day. I thought there was no way we wouldn’t have heard that copter crash into the ski hill. A dense fog had moved into the valley during the encore. The only thing I can figure is the fog muffled the sound of the crash.
